Mayor Bruce Harrell and Councilmember Dan Strauss recently issued an Executive Order and proposed new legislation to protect and grow Seattle's tree canopy. The goal of the legislation is to strengthen the City's Tree Ordinance, while the Executive Order aims to protect and grow the tree canopy citywide but with a focus on addressing the inequities in the canopy of historically underserved communities across Seattle.
