Ashley Whittaker

Editor in Chief of Community Playmaker and Partner at the Sports Facilities Companies

A driven collaborator and team leader, Ashley sits at the intersection of brand strategy, marketing, and sales. With award-winning creative work and proven strategies, Ashley brings with her a track record of success to every project and campaign. Clients get the benefit of Sports Facilities Companies’ in-house marketing and branding “agency” and the industry benefits from SFC’s new media and magazine, Community Playmaker to which Ashley serves as Editor in Chief.

 

Ashley leads marketing for SFC as well as the SF Network Marketing Department which is responsible for the marketing, branding, public relations, and project management of the SF Network facilities. Under her leadership, inbound leads and inquiries have more than tripled, SFA & SFM have been featured in major media outlets such as HBO, TIME, and The Wallstreet Journal, and SFM leadership is regularly sought out for interviews and speaking engagements.

 

In 2023, Ashley led the concept, development, and launch of Community Playmaker, SFC’s media, magazine, events platform dedicated to educating and serving local government leaders. With the work of her dedicated team, Community Playmaker is Inspiring the Next Great American Community through success stories, case studies, and industry data.

 

As the leader of SFC’s in-house agency, Ashley and her team develop engaging brands, results-driven marketing strategies, and bring proven solutions to SFC clients. In 2019, Ashley created and launched the SF Network platform which drives online booking and brand awareness, and creates cooperative marketing activations for all the facilities in the SFC portfolio. In 2023, Ashley led the launch of the SF Network National Marketing Co-op, a service extension designed to amplify the marketing efforts of SFC’s individual venues and bring enhanced marketing value through SFC’s negotiating power.

 

Ashley comes from a background in product design with Gill Athletics, the largest and oldest manufacturer of track and field equipment in North America and Porter Athletic, the basketball/volleyball heritage brand. Her unique blend of design thinking, leadership, and marketing strategy lends itself well to serving SF Network and SFC clients.
